About Us

Corinium Radio is a ‘not-for-profit’ group made up of members of the local community who volunteer their time to provide something that is about the community of Cirencester. Our aim is to offer a variety of programmes to suit a variety of tastes but all with a local feel.

New people are always welcome to join the team – it’s great to hear new ideas and share the fun.

Meetings

Corinium Radio meetings are open to all, although we do request under 13s be accompanied by an adult. We run two types of meetings – planning meetings and programming meetings.

Planning Meetings
A core group of 11 people meet approximatley once every fortnight to discuss ‘behind the scenes’ issues such as: equipment, licenses, fundraising, events (socials and fundraisers) and publicity. Our chairperson, Liz, has the job of keeping our meetings running smoothly. Other committee positions include a secretary, treasurer, studio manager and programme co-coordinator.

Committee members are elected at our AGM, which is held in June each year. (For a full list of committee members, see below.) However anyone may attend a planning meeting – you do not have to be on the core committee in order to attend!

Programming Meetings
These are open to all. At our programming meetings, we discuss programming ideas, and put together the schedule. Within these meetings, we discuss programme content and, where possible, run training sessions to assist those who are not used to using our equipment. We also discuss lots of other ‘on-air’ related items.

Our current committee members were elected in July 2009 and stay in their positions until the next election in June 2010. Any member of our team is entitled to put their name forward to put their name forward for any position in the commitee.
