Keri Jones reports from the twin city of Bergamo in the foothills of the Italian Alps. It is a town in two halves, linked by a funicular railway.
Keri discovers the quaint, hilltop half of Bergamo. This district gained UNESCO world heritage status for its formidable walls that were built by the Venetians. Keri also visits an incredible bar inside the city’s stunning 5-star Relais San Lorenzo hotel. It is built into the remains of Roman houses and a street uncovered when they were excavation the hotel’s foundations.
